The sensation of the current UK revival of electro pop, Ladytron’s second album, Light & Magic, garnered unanimous support from all the specialist music critics and was voted Electro Pop Disk of the Year by the prestigious electronic music magazine, Muzik.

Hexstatic – comprising the combined talents of Stuart Warren Hill and Robin Brunson – have become a reference for the most important video jockeys on the British club circuit, breaking the barriers between music, multimedia and computers. At this performance in Madrid, Hexstatic presented material from their second album Listen & Learn, and provided a surprisingly direct psychedelic mixture of state-of-the-art image and electronic sound.

Funki Porcini: Casa Encendida, Madrid. 5 June
Funki Porcini are characterised by their heterodox vision of the world of jazz, and in unexpected ways bring together electronics, broken rhythms inspired by drum and bass and hip hop, and soundscapes reminiscent of film scores.

Each concert incorporated a visual as well as an auditory element. Ladytron show digital art throughout their performance; Hexstatic include a VJ (video jockey) who projects an improvised mixture of images influenced by the atmosphere and the music onto a large screen; and the spectacular images designed by Funki Porcini offer a visual interpretation of the music they play.

The Casa Encendida and the British Council worked together on this project with the support of Mercury Wheels.
