London Brass is one of the world's leading brass ensembles. As ensemble-in-residence at the Royal College of Music in London, its involvement in educational work is a fundamental part of the annual schedule. All ten members of the ensemble are professors at one or other of the London conservatoires, so they are frequently invited to hold masterclasses when touring abroad. London Brass also promotes UK tours specifically to work with young brass players.

An important aspect of the touring work is the frequent involvement of local musicians in concerts. This may take the form of collaboration with local students, or of giving the opportunity for a local brass band to share the platform – and perhaps to join London Brass in the performance of some unusual large-scale repertoire. Two recent events in 2004 were for the Trinity College of Music Brass Experience in Blackheath and the BCM Brass Explosion in Birmingham.
