Chamber Domaine was recently described on BBC Radio 3 as ‘the most innovative ensemble in Britain today’. With its line-up of outstanding players, this London-based ensemble has established an international name through passionate, insightful performances and fascinating programme building. Chamber Domaine integrates chamber music and song from the 18th and 19th centuries and frequently gives world and UK premieres by leading composers such as Judith Bingham, Piers Hellawell and Arvo Pärt. It takes an innovatory approach to programming in its recitals, recordings and educational activities and is constantly exploring ways of developing audiences and broadening understanding and interest in the genre.
The Ensemble has an education programme and works regularly with the Wigmore Hall Education and Community department. Its project Scanning the Century, which links art, poetry, architecture and music from the 20th Century, commenced in autumn 2004.
