Selector Radio
'More radical in its programming than all music radio in Britain.' The Guardian

Q: Which British music radio show can you hear in countries across the world including Colombia, Nigeria, Montenegro, Mexico and Vietnam?

A: Selector Radio

The Selector is a two-hour radio show featuring the best in contemporary UK music - across all styles. It reflects the brilliance and diversity of British music, promoting to the world the new sounds, talents and musical culture of modern Britain. The aim is to challenge people’s perceptions about the UK and showcase the wealth of creativity and innovation on offer here.

The show is a collaborative project by the British Council, the production company Somethin' Else and the local radio stations currently broadcasting the Selector show. The idea was conceived in the UK by the British Council's Music team in 2001 and since this time the show has been broadcast in over 30 countries and built up a loyal audience. Selector Radio has also won awards including Radio Progamme of the Year in Hungary and the gold award for Best Weekly Music Programme at Sony Radio Academy Awards.

The show is currently broadcasting in 15 countries to an estimated audience of around 1.5 million listeners each week.

You can also listen to each week's show as a stream on the Selector Radio website - www.selector-radio.com. The website also features videos, podcasts, a forum and a Selector player that you can embed in your own web page.
