What We Do

Welcome to the Literature Activity pages. In this section you will find out more about the work that we do.

Click on UK Events (below) to view our work in the UK - including the biennial Cambridge Seminar and the Bookcase, part of the Edinburgh International Book Festival. You'll also find information about annual events such as the London Book Fair, where we help organisers by providing visitors from developing and emerging markets within the publishing industry.

You can find out more about our involvement in regular and one-off events overseas by clicking on Overseas Events. These pages illustrate how we provide advice and guidance to our overseas offices on a wide range of literature activity, including writers' visits and tours.

On the Conferences and Seminars pages you will find information about British Council-run events such as the annual Walberberg Seminar in Germany.

We also provide a comprehensive listing of annual and biennial UK Literature Festivals for your reference.

Please see the category links below for more specific information about what we are doing around the world, right now.
