Booklists

For children and young people we have an archive of 100 teenage literature titles, T Books, selected by the Reading Agency.

We also have various booklists for adults, teens and children on the enCompassCulture website.

Our Websites

A list and short summary of all our British Council Literature websites.

Literature Links
We have compiled hundreds of links to useful and interesting web sites about UK and Commonwealth literature, organised by category.
New Writing

New Writing is our annual anthology of new literature in English from the UK and the Commonwealth. Our comprehensive support site has details of previous editions and supporting materials including teachers' and readers' notes.

Please be aware that there are no current plans for a New Writing 16.

Poetry

The British Council project, Poetry Quartets, in partnership with Bloodaxe Books, consists of a series of contemporary poetry recordings featuring poets reading and talking about their work.

We are also involved with the Poems on the Underground project - the poems are distributed to our overseas offices.

Reading Kits for Teachers
As well as the teacher resources that support our New Writing publications, we have created a reader development Reading Kit for younger readers.
Further Resources

The Writers and Their Work series provides in-depth overviews of the literary lives and work of UK authors.

Literature Matters was our departmental newsletter which we previously distributed as an e-zine. Check out the archive to read about our past events and publications, other interesting articles and interviews with authors.
