UK The 22nd Oxford Conference: Reading lives: the literature of life and the life of literature in intercultural education The conference will blend author readings and conversations, round-table discussions, workshops and reading groups. With its emphasis on dialogue and participation, the event offers a lively and informal environment for exploration of these themes. PUBLICATIONS New Writing anthology The quality of the UK’s writing is recognised throughout the world. The New Writing anthology is the British Council’s annual showcase of new work by emerging and established authors from the UK and Commonwealth countries. The anthology has been published annually since 1992 and each year introduces some of the best new writing in prose and poetry to a wide audience in the UK and overseas. New Writing is published by Granta with support from Arts Council England.
New Writing 15, edited by Bernardine Evaristo and Maggie Gee will be published by Granta in June 2007.
