British Council Arts
AUTUMN 2006

Welcome to the Autumn issue of Literature Matters. This issue is a fresh look at the work of the Literature Department around the world. Featuring news on our live literature work, each issue will focus on a Literature event; this autumn it is the Helsinki Book Fair (26 – 29 October). The features include an interview with children's book illustrator and author Tony Ross, plus weblogs written by novelists Marina Lewycka and Joolz Denby.

There are: book reviews; information on where we are and what we do; news from the Edinburgh Bookcase; the Creative Commons debate; the Young Arab Writers Tour; online chats with children’s authors Lauren Child and Mal Peet, and much more.
