The British Council runs the biennial Cambridge Seminar of Contemporary Literature here in the UK. Our yearly overseas conference on contemporary literature is called the Walberberg Seminar, and is held in January each year.

Cambridge Seminar
11 - 17 July 2009
The British Council's Cambridge Seminar on Contemporary British Literature is a bi-annual event with participants from over over 40 countries meeting some of the best-known writers in the UK and taking part in debates ranging over many literary and cultural issues.

Walberberg Seminar of Contemporary Literature 2009
This year's seminar, the 24th, ran from 22 - 25 January 2009 and was held at Akademie Schmockwitz, Berlin on the theme ‘Changing Literary Climates', chaired by Patricia Duncker and featuring: David Edgar, James Meek, Michael Symmons Roberts, Rachel Seiffert and Simonetta Wenkert.

This is an event which we no longer continue to organise. It was an annual conference for teachers of literature.
