Animating Literature

Our Animating Literature Portal is a dedicated literature search engine. We have set up access to over 250 web sites with good quality UK and Commonwealth literature content for you to use. The portal can be searched using free text - any search terms you want - or via preselected searches. These have been set up for a number of areas: UK and Commonwealth authors; Teaching literature and creative writing; Learning literature and creative writing; Creative reading; and Literary translation. These can be accessed from the front page of the site and are constantly refreshed with new relevant up-to-date information.

You can choose to browse under selected headings including 15 named prizes, 17 genres, biographies, bibliographies, courses, reading groups, poet laureate, festivals, reviews, interviews, readers in residence, teaching literature, and literary translation. Another search feature is the ability to personalise the search engine to remember the type of information that interests you so that whenever you log in you can retrieve information without re-entering your search requests.

There are news features, changed at least weekly, and spotlights on major British Council events. A forum can be activated for discussions of events and news so that anyone using the portal can post their comments.
