Bangkok International Film Festival
19 - 29 July 2007

Bangkok's International Film Festival has been through its ups and downs in recent years, but in this year's slimmed down version we worked closely with its chief programmer to ensure the highest profile the UK has ever enjoyed at the festival. Eight award-winning British films were shown, including Red Road, Black Gold, Cashback, Festival, Goodbye Bafana, Mark Of Cain, Renaissance, and This is England. We also invited Kate Dickie, lead actress of Red Road, to attend the festival.

Despite losing her luggage en route, Kate swanned down the red carpet in a little black number hastily bought from Zara. At the on-stage interview there were many questions ranging from her opinion of security and surveillance (she plays a CCTV operator in the film) to why she prefers gritty urban realism to Hollywood.

British film is currently on one of its periodic rolls which we will exploit with the Thai Short Film and Video Festival later this month and Bangkok Festival of World Films in October.
