This year 30 of the 235 selected films showing at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival are British films or co-productions. These include the extraordinary documentary Man on Wire competing in the documentary category, independent films Poppy Shakespeare and Peacefire, and midnight screenings of classic British horror from the BFI vaults (Christopher Lee will accompany the screening of his legendary film Dracula). In addition veteran British filmmaker Nicholas Roeg will be personally presenting five of his films and the UK/USA co production Mamma Mia is the closing film of the festival.
Earlier this year the British Council organised London screenings for the festival programmer.
