Short Films
Short Films
Short films remain an important medium for established and aspiring filmmakers. The short format lends itself perfectly to an infinite variety of approaches, styles and subject matter. Unconventional and experimental techniques are not uncommon and provide an interesting contrast to full-length features where the film-making approach is generally more constrained and disciplined. The British Council actively maintains a number of programmes and activites to help promote short films. Our film resource site - www.britfilms.com - provides extensive information on film-related bodies in the UK, as well as sources of funding and sponsorship. You'll also find a directory of British films and a list of film festivals around the world. For more information about the British Films catalogue, please see our Publications and Resources page.
