Edinburgh Showcase, the British Council's biennial platform of UK performance, takes place in Edinburgh alongside the Fringe and International festivals in August 2009 (exact dates will be confirmed soon).

Over 200 leading international promoters from over 50 countries attended Edinburgh Showcase 2007, seeing work selected from the UK's most outstanding established and emerging companies working on the small- to middle-scale touring circuit.

The programme showcases artists who are exploring contemporary issues in innovative ways and working across the disciplines of new writing, physical and visual theatre, and live art.

There will be a call for expressions of interest from UK theatre companies September 2008 - all details will be included on this page as soon as we have them.
