Top Ten/Dieci e Lode
We have announced the 10 winners of our annual student design competition. Their work will be exhibited in the British Council in the heart of Milan during the Milan Furniture Fair. The world’s most significant international design event opens on the 15th April and attracts the most important international design press, furniture and product design buyers, retailers and manufacturers.
This year the British Council celebrates 10 years of graduating designers’ exhibitions at the Milan Furniture Fair. In honour of this anniversary three designers who exhibited in the first, Buckinghamshire College show in 1998 have selected this year’s top ten furniture and product design students graduating from Britain’s colleges. Pamela West and Matt Edmonds (now working together as Frank) and Anthony Dickens joined Tom Dixon and the British Council design team to form the jury for Top Ten/Dieci e Lode. Tom Dixon, who launched his own installation chock a bloc alongside Bucks at the British Council in Milan in 1998, has been a loyal supporter of the British Council’s national graduating students’ competition since its inauguration in 2001. The three 1998 designers will exhibit alongside this year’s 10 graduates at the British Council, Via Manzoni 38.
