Designed for Use
Designed for Use looks at the development from design brief to retail of 20 commercial products by 15 of Britain’s leading industrial design agencies.

This British Council touring exhibition was developed in partnership with the Design Council  and UK Trade & Investment. The creative relationship between designer and client is put under the spotlight, whilst highlighting the user-focused approach these designers take towards the development of their projects. The relationships explored in Designed for Use further elaborates the way in which these design consultancies work in hand with their international clients to achieve highly competitive world-class products.

Designed for Use launched in Zurich in November 2001 and has toured to Vienna and Essen, Germany and Beijing and Guangzhou in September 2002.

The exhibition was co- curated by Clive Grinyer (Design Council) and Emily Campbell (British Council).
