Milan Furniture Fair - Student Show

The British Council’s Art, Architecture and Design Department showcased the work of UK design students from Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College, Goldsmiths College, Kingston University, Manchester Metropolitan University, Nottingham Trent University, Ravensbourne College and Royal College of Art in Milan during the Salon del Mobile - the world’s largest international furniture fair.

Final year students from UK design colleges were invited to submit one final prototype which were judged by a panel including; Tom Dixon (Creative Manager at Habitat) Sheridan Coakley (Director of London furniture retailer and manufacturer SCP) and Emily Campbell (Head of Design department, British Council).

Since 1997 the British Council’s annual student show in Milan has launched the work of over 40 graduating British designers to an audience of international design press, furniture and product design buyers, retailers and manufacturers.

The exhibition was designed by Undu Design and was shown at the British Council, Via Manzoni, Milan in April 2003.
