Arkadius Fashion Show
The annual British Council / Cultura Inglesa fashion event took place in May 2000, with young couturier Arkadius following in the footsteps of designers Wayne Hemmingway and Owen Gaster who have shown with the Cultura in the past.

Hosting the event at Sao Paulo's Jockey Club, the Cultura Inglesa transformed the venue's white marble rooms into a haven of perfume-laden opulence for Arkadius' second catwalk collection, The Queen of Sheba.

Frequently Arkadius is described by commentators as one of the few British couture designers.Arkadius' collections draw inspiration from the natural and mythological, culminating in his most recent collection, The Queen of Sheba, a take both on the story and its symbolism, but most directly drawn from Brazilian artist Anna Maria Pacheo's painting of the same name.
