Visiting Arts is a registered independent charity, whose main aim is to advise and assist the UK arts constituency on presenting high quality contemporary international arts in the UK.
The work it is involved in includes information, advisory work, training and project development. It is funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, the British Council, the four UK Arts Councils and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.
The Visiting Arts website contains practical information for anyone presenting overseas arts in the UK, whether they are UK-arts practitioners presenting work for the first time or overseas artists keen to perform/exhibit here in the UK.
There is also information on Visiting Arts’ own funding, training and residency programmes as well as details of their extensive collection of Country Profiles, featuring contact information for the arts and cultural sectors from over 40 countries. Case studies of overseas projects, which have involved Visiting Arts as well as interviews from actual overseas artists that have performed in the UK, are also available.
