IELTS Examination Cancellation, Transfer, Appeal and Complaint Policies

For exam date transfer or cancellation you need to contact the Exams Department five weeks prior to the test date. Any request after this period will not be considered. The only exemptions that can be accepted are:

Illness
Loss or bereavement – death of a close family member
Hardship/trauma –victim of crime, victim of a traffic

In this case, the candidates must complete the Request for Refund or Test Date Transfer Form Download Word document (MS Word, 191 KB) and attach the appropriate documentation and/or evidence no later than five working days after the test date. Acceptable documents may include a medical certificate from a qualified medical practitioner, a death certificate, or a police report. The Administrator will advise the candidate within one week of lodging the application whether or not their request has been approved.

Cancellation
Candidates who cancel their registration more than five weeks before the test date, will receive a full refund of full fee minus an administrative fee of 19 000 AMD. The refund can be collected from the British Council Armenian branch in cash in AMD, the local currency. A refund can be made within six months of the actual test date.

Transfer
Candidates who transfer their test date more than five weeks before the selected test date will be charged an administrative fee of 19 000 AMD (if paid in Armenia) or 66 EUR (if paid abroad).

For both exam cancellation and transfer you need to fill in the Request for Refund or Test Date Transfer Form Download Word document (MS Word, 191 KB) and either submit it to our office or send via e-mail.

The payment slip along with the Request for Refund or Test Date Transfer Form Download Word document (MS Word, 191 KB) should be submitted or e-mailed to the Exams Department.

Appeal
The appeal process is possible within six weeks of the test date.If you wish to appeal your test results you need to pay the appeal fee in amount of 39 000 AMD (if paid in Armenia) or 86 EUR (if paid abroad) to our bank account number Download Word document (MS Word, 30 KB). The appeal fee is fully reimbursed only if your score is changed.

The payment slip along with the IELTS Enquiry on Results Form (EOR)Download PDF Document (Adobe PDF, 376 KB) should be submitted or e-mailed to the Exams Department. Please note that the appeal process may take up to eight weeks.

Complaint
Candidates who wish to make a complaint about an incident on test day must fill the Complaint Form for Candidates Download PDF Document (PDF, 414KB)  and e-mail it to the Exams Departments.

The complaint must be done within three days of the test day. The results cannot be issued until the complaint has been investigated.

Please note that no complaint can be processed after your results have been released.

Candidates with special circumstances
The British Council Armenia, in collaboration with the University of Cambridge ESOL examinations, offers special arrangements to candidates with special needs (e.g. hearing, speech problems, dyslexia etc.) when taking the exams. The exact procedure for each candidate will differ according to the nature and degree of the candidate’s disability.

Candidates who require special arrangements are asked to inform us by e-mail six weeks before the test date with necessary medical reports.
