Sporting Nations Community Choirs

The Sporting Nations Community Choirs strengthened the link between Argentina and the UK through sport and music! The four choral communities (Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Esquel and Trelew) gave a series of extraordinary concerts for music lovers, friends and family. Follow this link to meet Mari Morgan, the choirs’ artistic director and conductor, and the choristers!

Music and song are integral to sporting life and a vital part of national heritage for both the UK and Argentina. For Sporting Nations, a repertoire of traditional and popular songs sung by sport’s fans on terraces and in stadiums of sporting events in Argentina and the United Kingdom was one of the core elements of this project. The choristers practiced with online materials and had the chance to master their singing during the face-to-face rehearsals and workshops.

Sporting Nations Community Choirs reunited all choristers for one final performance. The four choirs sang and recorded World in Union, the song that reflects best the spirit of this project. Follow this link and enjoy the video.

Sporting Nations Community Choirs was a unique opportunity for choral music lovers and for those eager to discover the strong bonds between the British and the Argentine cultures.
