Peacekeeping English Project

The Peacekeeping English Project works in twenty-four countries, East and Central Europe and Central Asia. The Project is managed by the British Council on behalf of the United Kingdom Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and Ministry of Defence (MOD).

The aim of the programme is to enhance political and military stability through improving the English language communication skills of the police and armed forces, and so improve international co-operation in NATO peacekeeping operations and other areas.

In Albania, we work with our partners - The Albanian Ministry of Defence, TRADOC Command and Special Units. We also have a small project running with the Republican Guard (Ministry of Public Order) - to develop an integrated and coherent English language teaching (ELT) policy and to provide material support and training for the teaching, management and administration staff working within these two ministries.
