British Council links young people from Albania, UK and South Eastern Europe working together to promote active youth participation in communities development through creativity and skills development.

Our Active Citizenship innitiaitve running during 2007-2008 aims at targeting in a creative way the vital problems of the local comminitues in three different areas of country, all leaded and managed by young people themselves.

The project is being developed in partnership with Citizenship Foundation in UK;

Active citizenship training event 25-27 September 2007

British Council Albania and Citizenship Foundation organised a three day training for the LGS network members to look into issues of youth campagning, active citizenship and project planning. The event is the innitial phase of the project which aims at involving local youth in community development in the cities of Tirana (capital), Berat and Pogradec.

The role of young people in local communities – public debates leaded by LGS network

  • Communities and the protection of cultural heritage in the city of Berat
  • Environmental protection and community development in Pogradec
  • Youth partecipation in decision making
