The purpose of the British Council is to build engagement and trust for the UK through the exchange of knowledge and ideas between people worldwide. Our main aim in Albania is to  support Albania on its road to EU accession by helping people develop skills they will need to ensure Albania’s economic competitiveness.

We do this by:

			Supporting teachers and learners of English
			Working with the Ministry of Education and other partners on Vocational Education reform
			Organising internationally recognised language exams
			Providing learning materials in the resource centre in the University of Tirana, the National library of Albania and the library in Korçë
			Working with Microsoft on a project that helps students and teachers envisage classrooms of the future
