If you are planning to study, live or work abroad, you will need to take an IELTS (International English Language Testing System) Exam.

In Lusaka we run IELTS Exams monthly. Read on to find out how to register, what it costs and when the exams take place.

		How can I register?


	OPTION 1

			Step1: Apply online
			Step2: Fax to +260 211 224122 or e-mail info@britishcouncil.org.zm the following documentation:

			copy of your international passport including the validation page (to be present at exam)
			deposit slip.


	OPTION 2

			Step1: Download the application form

			Application form
			copy of your international passport including the validation page (to be present at exam) or
			copy of your national registration card
			copy of deposit slip.

Please note:

			Student ID card will not be accepted
			The original copy of ID attached to the completed form must be presented on the exam day. PO Box / PMB/ agent and international addresses will be accepted as correspondence address. (Please state clear and concise addresses)
			The candidate must sign the IELTS form personally. No other person is authorised to sign on behalf of the candidate. The candidate will be automatically disqualified in the event of someone else signing on their behalf.

		How do I pay?

All payments for exams need to be paid directly into the following Barclays branches:

Completing the British Council Deposit Slip

In order to assist us in identifying your payment, it is important that you use the correct Exam code on the Deposit Slip. These Exam codes are only to be used for the deposit slips.

The Exam code should then be followed by your Surname, then First Name.

The deposit slip will not be accepted by Barclays without this information.

You need to submit your completed application, deposit slip and payment to Barclays. The British Council will collect your application form directly from Barclays.

		When will I get my results?

Results certificates are posted by registered mail 13 days after the main exam date.

Unfortunately results cannot be given over the phone, by fax or e-mail, and we are only allowed to give ONE certificate to each student. Candidates can however request to pick up their results in person instead of receiving them by post. This request can be made on the date of the exam and we will ask you to add your name to our collection list and please bring along your ID.

		What will happen before the Exam?

			We will confirm your exam date by e-mail within ten days of receiving your application form, copy of your ID or passport and proof of payment.
			Unfortunately we cannot reserve places before you have paid.

		How do I prepare for the exam?

1. You can familiarise yourself with the IELTS exam by purchasing the specimen pack which contains a sample exam and a listening CD.

Numbers are limited so they are on a first come first served basis.

		What should I take to the exam?

			Proof of your identity which is the same as the identity information you provided on your application form. It must contain a number, a signature, a date of birth and a photograph.
			If you are taking the exam in another country you also need to bring your passport.
			The pens, pencils and erasers which you need for the exam. Bring an accurate watch along with you too so that you can keep track of the time.

Please note: If you do not have the correct identity information you will not be able to take the exam. Make sure you arrive on time so that you have enough time to settle before the start of the exam.
