As the National Project Coordinator, Picha Mtaani, George runs a Youth led national reconciliation and post-conflict reconstruction project, aiming to promote peaceful co-existence among communities’ in Kenya’s seven most election conflict affected provinces. ‘’I seek to understand power and its dynamics and to create structures that support pragmatic youth participation in development. I support the building of a critical constituency that questions the ordering of things; strengthening young people’s capabilities and capacities to transform the status quo to ultimately create a society of equality.’’
Esnatt is currently working at Chancellor College, University of Malawi and says she wants to change the world by ‘’ Having several centers in Africa that work with children between the ages of 6-8, that will help the children developed socially, intellectually and psychologically. These centers will provide them with a place to be free and express themselves in different doctrines of art and music, and will tackle certain cryptic cultural mindsets that prohibit many African countries from developing in a way that the children will understand.’’
There are approximately 650 million people who live with disabilities. Unfortunately, the socio-economic status of these people remains compromised in both developed and underdeveloped societies. Edward who is still a high school student would thus change the world by highlighting this and ensuring its prominence at the forefront of a global agenda. ‘’I would also ensure that governments commit themselves to make a concerted effort to mainstream people with disabilities because no convention or resolution in the world can change the socio-economic status of people with disabilities without such a commitment.’’
Children, women and the socially disadvantaged people of all kinds are a passion for Barry. He is the founder of the Mohammed Lamarana Barry Children's Trust and through the trust he will seek to build schools for children in the rural areas of the Gambia as well as Senegal and build an African Network of Youths Living with HIV/AIDS. ‘’I want to advocate for children living with HIV/AIDS to receive quality drugs at no cost; develop a user friendly tool for people (children) for the purpose of HIV/AIDS prevention. I have big plans that I believe I will achieve and must achieve.’’
An A Level Student at Arundel High School in Harare, Zillah wants to provide a means for children to obtain an education not just in Zimbabwe or Africa but in the world. Considering that education is a fundamental human right regardless of wealth, gender, and race she says, ‘’I want to implement this change by starting small projects within my community, then branching out so as to create a ripple effect for change in our world (Dream big start small).’’
