Examination / Administration Services
Last year, the British Council worldwide helped 2 million people sit professional and academic exams from the UK. In Tanzania, we administer a wide range of exams including IELTS, CIE, ACCA and more. Find out more here.

English online: We offer three free websites to help you improve your English: LearnEnglish, LearnEnglishKids, and TeachingEnglish.
Education & Society
Connecting Classrooms: a three-way partnership programme that promotes intercultural dialogue between schools in Sub-Saharan Africa and the UK.
GSP: The Global School Partnerships programme links teachers and students in over 155 Tanzanian schools with their counterparts in the UK.
International Inspirations: British Council in partnership with UK Sport aims to transform the lives of two million children of all physical abilities in schools and communities in Tanzania, through the power of sport and play.
DelPHE & IHLFS: Development Partnerships in Higher Education provides funding for partnerships between higher education institutions working on collaborative activities linked to development goals. IHLFS supports project that focus on healthcare development.
Management Forum: a group of professionals who share expertise using networking events with the aim to improve management competencies in Tanzania. This project is sponsored by the British High Commission.
Arts
EUNIC: British Council partners with other European Union Cultural Organizations such as Alliance Française and Goethe Institut to deliver Arts projects such as Poetry Slam and Volunteerism.
Facilities
Auditorium: Suitable for both conferences and workshops, the auditorium sits up to 140 people, it is equipped with a powerful 3500 lumens conference projector (inputs for computer, video or DVD); a fully equipped sound system with inputs for CD and microphone (wired or wireless);12 networked points for internet access, as well as standard equipment such as flipcharts, whiteboard and OHP
