In Rwanda we support and organise a variety of English language related activities. Over 1,500 satisfied adult students have taken quality English language courses with us. Our Teaching Centre has some of the most highly qualified EFL teachers in Rwanda, a wealth of resources and a variety of programmes to choose from. We are the organisation best placed to help you achieve your goals.

What courses can I take?

We offer general English courses to help you improve your chances of success professionally and personally. The range of courses includes: all levels of General English, Business English courses and exam preparation. We also run tailor made programmes on (e.g. Communication & Business English), delivered in the workplace for our growing number of corporate clients.

After your placement test, we will advise you on the best course for you.

Adult General English - Expand your communication skills and improve your grammar and vocabulary
Adult Business English Level

Course times

Our Teaching Centre operates from Monday to Friday. Note that some classes may be cancelled and depend on demand. Courses are currently offered at these times:

Adult General English and Business English Monday to Friday, 1600 - 1830, and 1845 - 2115
Corporate clients Class times can be during normal office working hours or, subject to negotiation, according to your requirements and trainer availability.
WHERE ARE THE COURSES HELD?
All classes are held in RIAM’s Muhima Campus, Rue Du Mont Huye, Muhima, Kigali
WHO ARE THE TEACHERS?
All our teachers are professionally qualified and experienced in teaching English as a foreign language. Teachers aim to create a relaxed and productive environment where you can learn to use English in real-life work and social situations.
HOW DO I REGISTER?

If you are a new student you will need to take a placement test before enrolling in one of our courses. This involves a written test and a speaking test with one of our teachers. Following the test we will match your language needs and learning requirements to a suitable class. Placement testing happens during registration.

Please note: If you have any special needs and/or medical/dietary requirements, please do not hesitate to inform us.

For placement tests and registration, come to the British Council office in Kigali on the 2013 registration dates below.

WHAT ARE THE COSTS?
2013
Adult General English - 240,000 RWF
Business English - We have different prices, the customer is charged according to the specific training he/she needs and the number of hours taught.
HOW DO I PAY?
Payments for courses must be paid in full before your course starts. You can pay by cheque or if you are sponsored by your institution upon receiving a signed sponsorship letter we will raise an invoice. We will give you more details when you come in to do the placement test. Once you have paid you will be issued with a receipt detailing the time and location of your course, and your class teacher.
