The British Council's artistic collaboration work between the UK and Africa is known as ‘New Work New Audiences’. The programme is all about the sharing of best and new artistic practice between the UK and Africa. We hope to share some of the most stimulating contemporary work being created in the UK and will have a strong emphasis on joint ventures and collaboration between artists and arts organisations from the UK and Africa.
The British Council have a long history of supporting UK and African arts exchange with previous projects such as the award winning ‘Britain and South Africa Dancing’ or the musical collaboration between pianists Joanna MacGregor and the late Moses Molelekwa. Through this programme we will build on previous work, providing opportunities to artists and arts organisations in Africa interested in developing lasting relationships with the UK.
