When will I get my results?

Results certificates are posted registered mail 13 days after the main exam date. We will give you your tracking number at the exam, so that you can trace your parcel at any time.

Unfortunately results cannot be given over the phone, by fax or e-mail, and we are only allowed to give ONE certificate to each student. Candidates can however request to pick up their results in person instead of receiving them by post. This request can be made on the date of the exam and we will ask you to add your name to our collection list. When the results are available we will call you; to collect your results you simply need to bring your ID book.

In addition to the certificate given to the candidate, candidates can request on their application forms (Section 24), that up to 5 copies of the results be sent to receiving institutions. Receiving institutions are local academic institutions (e.g. universities) and overseas institutions not registered to view candidate results online. Registered institutions only receive results online; here is a list of registered institutions. Unfortunately we cannot send to local institutions or departments (e.g. immigration agents).

What will happen before the Exam?
Candidates will receive notification/confirmation either by e-mail or telephone at least a week before the exam date.
In the event that you do not receive the notification, please contact the British Council office where you registered.
Exam date cannot be deferred or transferred and fees are non-refundable.
How do I prepare for the exam?

We can help you prepare for your exam in two ways:

1.  You can familiarise yourself with the IELTS Exam by purchasing the specimen pack which contains a sample exam and a listening CD.
2. We also run two-day IELTS Information workshops in Maputo. These Workshops will be facilitated by experienced IELTS Trainers.

Numbers are limited so they are on a first come first served basis.

What should I take to the exam?
Proof of your identity which is the same as the identity information you provided on your application form. It must contain a number, a signature, a date of birth and a photograph.
If you are taking the exam in another country you need to also bring your passport.
The pens, pencils and erasers which you need for the exam. Bring an accurate watch along with you too so that you can keep track of the time.

Please note: If you do not have the correct identity information you will not be able to take the exam. Make sure you arrive at least one hour before the exam time so that you have enough time to get comfortable.
