IELTS English language exams in Mauritius

If you are planning to study, live or work abroad, you will need to take an IELTS (International English Language Testing System) exam. See our general information on IELTS for more details.

In Mauritius we run IELTS exams regularly and workshops to help you prepare for the exam. Read on to find out how to register, what it costs and when the exams and workshops take place.

How to register for the exam?
To register you can apply online, download the application form, or complete the IELTS application form found in information packs available on request from our Centre.
Please submit the completed application form along with two passport sized photographs and exam fees to the Professional Development Services team. You may also email or fax the documents to +230 454 9553

On receipt of your application our Exams team will write to you to confirm your exam date, speaking and writing exam schedules as well as the venue details. The confirmation letter is sent through registered post no later than 10 days prior to your exam date.

How much will the exam cost?
You are requested to submit payment in cash or cheque drawn to British Council Mauritius when submitting your application form. Note that your registration is complete only when the payment has been settled.

When will I get my results?
Results are obtained 13 days after the test date. You must collect your Test Report Form in person along with a form of identification. In the event that a different person must collect your results, please provide us with a signed authorisation note.

Preparing for the exam
We can help you prepare for your exam in two ways:

1. IELTS study pack, containing a CD-ROM, handbook, exam information, and practice papers. The pack costs Rs 500.00.
2. You can also join one of our Preparation Courses to help you achieve the best results. Our 15 hour course costs Rs 2,900 while the 30 hour course costs Rs 4,800.
