Rivers of the World is a Thames Festival educational project delivered in partnership with the British Council with support from HSBC Global Education Trust and Jack Petchey Foundation. Thirty four schools from London UK, were partnered with a school from either South Africa, Brazil, China, Egypt, India and Mexico. Each partnership shared a collaborative workspace on this platform categorized by a River theme

This month’s cubed investigates the development of a ‘child-like’ robot, which is being taught how to speak by researchers at the University of Plymouth. The inspiration for the ITALK project comes directly from nature and the process of language acquisition in young children. The team hopes the research could lead to the development of humanoid robots which learn, think and talk.
