The British Council has been active in Eritrea since 1971 when the library was first opened. Fully-fledged Council operations started in 1993. We offer a range of services in support of the development of Eritrea and its educational and professional institutions.
Our work covers a wide range of areas from Information Centre to Professional Development in different areas for government and non-government organisations. Moreover strongly engaging in the support of Education System of the country. Our centre in Asmara is the best place to take English courses and exams, find information about UK education and access resources through our library.
