Education and English for development

We work with governments, civil society and businesses to improve the access to and quality of education by sharing best practice and innovation, enabling international collaboration and promoting skills and training.  Find out about our programmes in this area.

Schools

We connect the UK's school sector to schools across Sub-Saharan Africa to enrich education, promote global citizenship and build international trust and understanding.

Higher education

We foster dialogue and international partnerships between higher education institutions and organisations. We also help students who want international study experience.

Skills

We use the themes of skills and enterprise to promote cultural relations and social and economic development. In doing so, we promote and support skills development and innovation by encouraging closer links between educators, employers and policy makers in the UK and worldwide.

English for development

We work to enhance the language and classroom skills of teachers of English and mobilise governments and donor support to improve access to English learners in Sub-Saharan Africa.
