British Council and Caviar Lounge are pleased to invite you to three concerts of UK bands under the music programme at the 4th Moscow International Open Book Festival.
PUMAJAW (UK) Pumajaw is one of the best Scottish non-commercial duets who create rhythmical music with spacious tunes and slightly ethno touch. In light melodic patterns the musicians incorporate harshy samples and cracky beats refusing to follow this or that style rules.
THE MONTGOLFIER BROTHERS (UK) The Montgolfier Brothers is a project named after brothers Joseph Michel and Jacques-Etienne Montgolfiers who invented a hot air balloon in the 18th century. These Montgolfier Brothers are neither French brothers, not hot air ballooners. Instead, they comprise the British music duet by Roger Quigley and Mark Tranmer whose music as it has been said would make you want close your eyes and soar in the clouds. Take part in our competition and win the invitation to their concert!
NOBLESSE OBLIGE (GERMANY/UK) Ex-London, now Berlin based duo Noblesse Oblige was formed in 2004 by German songwriter/producer Sebastian Lee Philipp and French performer-cum- songwriter/chanteuse Valerie Renay. Their debut album Privilege Entails Responsibility (the English translation of the band name) was released in the U.K. in 2006. Its eclectic mix of disco punk, sixties French chanson and raw acoustic folklore combined with lyrical wit and dark humour proved an appealing combination among the London hipster crowds.
