21世纪的第1个10年就要过去了，世界文明并没有如科幻电影《2001太空漫游》所描绘的那般受到天启而飞速进化，唱片工业反而受到互联网的冲击显得前所未有的“疲软”。但在另一方面，这个10年恐怕也是有史以来人们听到最多新声音的10年。我们从没有如此接近距离地接触到欧美音乐文化，不再依赖落后的传统媒体和打口带，现在我们的音乐欣赏完全能够和大洋彼岸同步。还记得10年来你到底听过多少新鲜的声音吗？要回答这个问题其实真的很难。
最近一期的《Uncut》杂志选出了21世纪第1个10年中150张最佳专辑。其中来自英国的专辑不在少数。《Uncut》杂志是一本来自伦敦的月刊，在英语世界国家中非常流行。这本杂志专门报道音乐，但也有关于电影的部分。我们来看看有哪些英国专辑入选了这10年来最值得一听的专辑。

排在第24位的是Arctic Monkeys的《Whatever People Say I Am，That’s What I’m Not》（Domino，2006）。《Uncut》说：“年轻、活跃、多变，并且通过Alex Turner非同寻常而精妙的词作才华，Arctic Monkeys虽然情绪多变，但仍恰如其分地继承了The Jam、The Smiths和The Libertines的伟大传统。”

排名第23位的是Beth Gibbons和Rustin Man合作的《Out Of Season》（Go！，2002）。《Uncut》将其描述为：“一张脆弱、诱人和大胆的忧郁唱片。”
Blur的《Think Tank》（EMI，2003）排在第22。《Uncut》说：“一张优雅和成熟的唱片，从‘Caravan’温暖的阿拉伯情调到悦耳的流行曲‘Out Of Time’无一不是精彩之作”。

Amy Winehouse的《Back To Black》（Island，2006）排名20。《Uncut》说：“突如其来的温馨和危险的自白，感觉就像是释放了一个经典的瞬间。”
第18名是Kate Bush的《Aerial》（EMI，2005）。《Uncut》的解释是：“这就是Kate Bush，某些片段听起来极为荒谬，但尽管这样它们也被组织得相当漂亮。”
Radiohead的独立发行的《In Rainbows》（2007）排在榜上的第15位。《Uncut》说：“这也是迄今为止乐队对技术的偏执和巴洛克式的现场摇滚最充分的体现。”
第14名，Primal Scream的《XTRMNTR》（Creation，2002）。《Uncut》说：“一支乐队的第6张专辑被认为是他们最好的一张，这种情况极为罕见，但有了《XTRMNTR》，Primal Scream便开创了一片新天地。”
第12名，Portishead的《Third》《Island，2008》。《Uncut》说：“一场《启示录》般充满德国摇滚乐、民谣、电子乐，甚至高科技音乐的不妥协碰撞，这种不祥的预感仿佛就是世界崩溃的原声带。”
第6名是来自老将Robert Plant和Alison Krauss合作的《Raising Sand》（Rounder，2007）。《Uncut》对这张专辑评价道：“一场对美国根源音乐多样性的华丽庆典。”
《Uncut》把第1名的桂冠给了美国乐队The White Stripes的《White Blood Cells》（2001）。
此外，Radiohead的《Kid A》（Parlophone，2000）被这本英国杂志只排到了第25位，《Uncut》将其描述为“逃离乐队之前通过《OK Computer》建立的复杂的摇滚音乐监狱之路”。相反据“时代在线”网站近日评选的21世纪第1个10年100张最佳专辑却将其排在第1名。“时代在线”做出的解释是：在发行差不多10年之后，Radiohead的第4张专辑很容易让人忘记当初在它出现之时是多么地让人目瞪口呆。《OK Computer》获得了歌迷和乐评家一致的推崇，将其看作是有史以来最棒的专辑，于是乐队的下一个挑战就应该是保持他们的听众群，而不是变成他们自己崇拜的乐队。因为这样的话，他们会功成名就，全身而退。据说Thom Yorke和Jonny Greenwood是乐队中的笔记本电脑操作者，其他成员甚至疑惑他们是否还被需要。不管怎样，他们的所作所为实际上是重新定义了新世纪摇滚专辑的概念。“Everything In Its Right Place”和“Morning Bell”的氛围仿佛是为强迫症定制的，“The National Anthem”和“Idioteque”则充满了夜晚的恐怖。而纵观全局——最显而易见的要数“How To Disappear Completely”和“Optimistic”——Radiohead仍然留有时间让我们想起尽管他们变得面目全非，他们激动人心的现场协同仍然完好无损。上一支主流摇滚乐队发表这样的实验唱片同时还保持其商业成绩，就必须追溯到1968年的《The White Album》了。而这才是《Kid A》所达到的成就。
