The Active Citizens Learning Journey begins!
We are bringing you an exciting “Active Citizens Learning Journey” where you will learn more about yourself, your community, your culture and global role.
We are offering you trainings that will help you look at your community’s wellbeing in the big picture, be able to plan and run projects, participate in exchange visits and share the experience of transforming into an Active Citizen with your friends around the world. All in one package!!!
Helping us in the journey are our partners, Youth Parliament of Pakistan (YPP), an organisation working for social awareness of youth, and being led by a famous Pakistani pop singer, Abrar-ul-Haq.
You will pass through four mandatory stages of the Learning Journey:
Stage 1:
We will walk you through a 5 day “learning voyage”, encouraging you to identify yourself, your culture and facilitate you in connecting better with your communities and neighbourhoods. We will introduce you to the basics of concepts like “global interdependency and citizenship”, and help understand the differences within and between cultures.
Stage 2:
Now, you have the knowledge- it’s time to put it into use to revive your volunteering spirit and serve your communities. Our experienced mentors will guide you to unique opportunities to bring a change in your community. They will advise you on planning and most importantly teach how to implement community projects.
Stage 3:
You have worked to solve your community problems. Perhaps, your friends in other communities are facing the same problems. Why not help them? Get involved in international/national conferences, seminars, exchanges, showcasing events through which you can help your friends around the world. Share your understanding of working with multi-cultures and becoming an Active Citizen.
Stage 4
You have come this far, worked hard, why not tell the world what you have accomplished? You will get to share your stories, learning, and experience of working with foreign friends on our website, newsletters, and brochures. Interested? Wish to participate?
You can be a part of this Learning Journey if you are:
- between 18 – 35 years old
- available for all four stages
- a resident of the programme region (list given below)
- linked with young people through a network (university, college, virtual group, club etc)
- interested in volunteer work for your community’s welfare
We’ve had a number of trainings since November 2009 continuously. We’re taking a small break for now.
We’ll commence the next training session from Mid April 2010.
Till then, Hold-On!!
