Mark Perryman visita Portugal para participar num colóquio subordinado ao tema 'Futebol e Identidade Cultural' com uma comunicação com o título “ Something to declare. Football, National Identity and Ronaldo”.
Mark Perryman tem-se envolvido em campanhas para criar e manter uma “fan-culture” positiva em redor da Seleção Inglesa. É comentador de vários canais de televisão como a BBC TV News, Sky Sport, Talk-SPORT , investigador na Universidade de Brighton, e especialista em questões de football e ordem pública.
Em Coimbra e em Lisboa este colóquio contará igualmente com a participação de Salomé Marivoet, docente, investigadora e autora de vários trabalhos sobre a violência no desporto, publicados em Portugal e no estrangeiro. A Dra Salomé Marivoet irá abordar o tema 'Globalização, Futebol e Identidades'.
O evento de Lisboa contará com a participação especial do Dr José Luís Arnaut, que irá fazer a apresentação do 'Relatório sobre o Modelo Europeu de Desporto', estudo independente sobre o futebol europeu lançado sob a iniciativa da presidência britânica da União Europeia.

SEMINAR: FOOTBALL AND CULTURAL IDENTITY

Mark Perryman comes to Portugal to take part in a Seminar about FOOTBALL AND CULTURAL IDENTITY, and will be talking about “Something to declare: Football, National Identity and Ronaldo”.
Mark Perryman has been involved in initiatives towards creating and maintaining a positive England fan culture. He is a regular commentator for BBC TV News, Sky Sports, and TalkSPORT. He is a part-time research fellow at Brighton University and serves the Home Office working group on football and public disorder.
He will bring his latest publication: Ingerland-Travels with a Football Nation.
In Coimbra and Lisbon, this seminar will also have Dr Salomé Marivoet, a Professor and Researcher , author of several books and articles about violence in sport, published both in Portugal and abroad. She was a consultant for EURO 2004 on sport and public disorder.
The event in Lisbon will have as special guest speaker José Luís Arnaut who will present the 'Independent European Sport Review', a study on European football launched by the British presidency of the European Union.
