LIVING TOGETHER PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION

We are pleased to announce the launch of our Living Together Photography Competition, an open photography competition for professional and amateur photographers to produce work reflecting issues around the two themes of our Living Together project:

the impact of migration on societies in South East Europe and the UK
the participation of minority communities in public life.

The competition is open to residents of the following countries: Albania, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM), Georgia, Greece, Kosovo, Romania, Serbia, Montenegro, Turkey, Israel, United Kingdom.

Residents of the above countries aged 13–35 can take part and enter three photos to express their feelings on the following three briefs:

New Faces, New Places
A Sense of Home
Migration - A New Phenomenon?

Closing date for submission of entries: 15 March 2009.

The winners will be announced at the in March 2009. Their work will be showcased throughout the region as a travelling exhibition.

The competition will link up with a series of public events called photographic treasure hunts – contributing to further arts activity across the region.

As a cross-cultural, language-free communication, we believe that art can be a powerful tool for expressing ideas, issues and experience. We particularly want the competition to encourage young people to express their thoughts on issues of diversity, participation in public life and intercultural dialogue.
