AND THE WINNERS ARE ...
We are delighted to announce the 3 winning entries of the Thessaloniki ReVisions project, which was jointly organised by the British Council, the French Institute of Thessaloniki, the Goethe Institute of Thessaloniki and the Greek-Spanish Cultural Centre of Thessaloniki as follows:

1st Prize: MANIADAKI Despina
Title of work: Rue de l’Egypte
2nd Prize: KARASACHINIDIS Pantelis
Title of work: The Cosmic Zhi in Bei Hamam
3rd Prize: MICHAIL Anastasia
Title of work: Internment

THESSALONIKI REVISIONS AWARDS CEREMONY
On the occasion of the Thessaloniki (Re)Visions awards ceremony and screening, we are delighted to invite one of our four judges, Professor Mischa Kuball from the School of Fine Arts at the University of Cologne, to give a presentation entitled The True Lies of the Media. The presentation is aimed at fine arts students and anyone interested in media and communications. Simultaneous interpretation into Greek will be provided and admission is free.

When: Wednesday 8 June 2011, 8 p.m.
Where: Thessaloniki Museum of Photography, Warehouse A', Port of Thessaloniki

DIGITAL ART & VIDEO ART COMPETITION
In collaboration with the Institut Francais de Thessalonique, the Goethe-Institut Thessaloniki and the Centro Cultural Hispano-Helleno de Salonica «Federico Garcia Lorca» we are organising a joint project focusing on Thessaloniki.

As our inaugural activity, we are delighted to announce the launch of the Thessaloniki (Re)Visions project and invite you to take part in the digital video and video art competition we are organising as part of this joint initiative.

The competition is aimed at young artists over the age of 18. To enter the competition, choose one of the following themes:

People
Places
Stories

All three themes revolve around the city and people of Thessaloniki; its present, past and future; its urban environment; and the stories and experiences of its inhabitants and visitors through the eyes of those who have come into contact with the city over the years.

Create your videos in compliance with the following general specifications:

Each submission should be original and should be accompanied by 4 copies of the work in DVD format.
Mobile phone videos are not eligible.
The use of sound is optional.
Each work’s duration should be approximately 3 minutes.
Participation fee for each entry is 10 euros.

The winners will be selected by an international judging panel comprised of distinguished professionals from each participating country (UK, France, Germany and Spain).

1st Prize
a programme of study visits to international partner festivals/organisations
2nd Prize
a three-day visit to the UK
3rd Prize
an MLS Destinator Talk&Drive 43SL and a video camera

The best entries will be announced at an awards ceremony we will organise in collaboration with the other partnering cultural institutes.
